California Fly Fishing Open
One of our many goals as a fly fishing club is to give back to the community. We created the California Fly Fishing Open with the hope of building stronger ties with fishy fly fishing folks while also giving back to such an amazing community. Profits from the tournament fees will be donated to Casting for Recovery and Project Healing Waters.
We are pleased to announce the 1st annual California Fly Fishing Open to be held on September 23, 2017 in Kernville, CA. All fly fishing organizations, from clubs to manufacturers, are welcome to participate.
This will be a 5 person team event with a registration fee of $50 per person. If you do not have a complete team of 5, we will place you with team in need of more people. Teams do not have to be official fly fishing clubs to participate. Team shirts are highly encouraged as we will introduce the teams in an "Olympic-like" ceremony. Check in will be at the Kern River Fly Shop at 8:00 am.
Post tournament activities will be held at Rivernook Campground where vendors ranging from fly fishing manufacturers to non-profit organizations will be showcasing products and informational exhibits. We will have a BBQ dinner as well as The Stoneflys and Par Avion to provide entertainment. Entry for just the post tourney activities is $20.
We are inviting fly fishing vendors to sell and display their products. Selling hours will be from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. Space size will either be: Single 10’ X 10’ or Double 10’ X 20’. We will be hosting a raffle fundraiser and are requesting a merchandise donation with an approximate retail value of $100 for a Single or $200 Double for your space fee. Non-profit organizations will not have to donate items to obtain a booth space. Vendors will be responsible to supply their own booth, table and chairs. Load in will be from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm.
